At 7:30pm on Thursday, July 25, the Grandville RoboDawgs will launch the next high altitude weather balloon in their Race to Space. This launch, expected to reach near space at an altitude of more than 100,000ft, will carry a broader set of research, tracking, and photography gear than normal. Thursday’s launch will also carry more than 7ft of specialized photographic film in an unusual lightproof container that the team hopes will help them capture evidence of gamma radiation at very high altitudes. Watch for more details to be posted once the capsule is recovered and the film is processed….
