Young students love robots – and hundreds drove RoboDawg robots of varying sizes over the weekend

The RoboDawgs hosted their annual robot outing at the Rivertown Crossings Mall this weekend. The team set up more than 5,000sf of robot fields and demonstration areas, showing off robots FIRST Robotics and VEX Robotics Competitions. They held the League Championship for the West Michigan VEX League on Saturday morning. Fan favorites at the mall included autonomous racing boats from the last five years, high altitude balloon gear, a quadcopter built by the team, and a 3D printing display. Young visitors went straight to the Lego League field and game objects. The RoboDawgs gave out just over 5,000 of their famous DawgTags to visitors who stopped and visited with team members, making this the second busiest mall outing since the team began this tradition four years ago.
